HELP - where can I get advice?

HELP - where can I get advice?
There are many people who can help you resolve problems / issues
- for yourself
- or for a friend, loved one
- or a client, patient, customer, contact.
its difficult and of course a few 'advisors' out there just want to make money out of your problems
Seeing a bad advisor will make things worse
Not seeing an advisor will make things worse
our TOP TIPS - based on the experience of many clients and staff -
It is always better to see an advisor with a friend, relative or support worker - to help you explain your wishes and also help to explain things to you when it is stressful.
It pays to talk - better than burying your head in the sand and hoping it all goes away.
The best advisors will NOT judge you or press you - but will help you make informed decisions.
The best advisors will be accredited - but this is NOT enough on its own.
If you are uncomfortable with advice given see if you can get a second opinion.
NEVER sign anything unless you fully understand it and are given a copy to review with a friend or CAB before you are asked to sign it.

West Kent Debt Advice is a local charity supported by a partnership of Christian churches across West Kent who serve the whole community regardless of race, belief or gender.

The WKDA team of over 100 volunteers are trained to help people in debt by investigating their money issues and working with them to develop solutions to return them to a sound financial footing.  They help anyone who has debt problems - big or small - including credit card debt, council tax arrears, utility bills through to threatened eviction or county court action.  More resources on their Website www.wkda.org.uk  |   Call 01732 300425  |  Email them advice@wkda.org.uk or Click HERE

"Young people can face lots of problems nowadays. Whether it's to do with parents splitting up, or bullying at school, it's good to know that they can talk confidentially to a Relate counsellor. I'd like to congratulate Relate on its 70th Anniversary: keep up the good work in helping children and young people to get over their relationship problems so they can feel happier at home, at school and with their friends."

Jacqueline Wilson, Children's Laureate 2005-2007

"I often write about troubled children and teenagers whose families are in conflict. It's so good to know that Relate offers such sensitive counselling for young people enduring similar situations
