West Kent YMCA currently runs the following projects
  •  Talk2us - NEW Counselling Service  providing safe, welcoming, supportive, professional and confidential 1-1 Counselling for YMCA Clients [residents, trainees, youth club members and youth work participants]
  •  Ryder House - providing safe, welcoming and supportive housing for 37 homeless young men and women, aged 16 to 26 [age 16-24 on arrival and can stay up to 2 years] in our high quality self-contained flats in central Tunbridge Wells - helping young people find their foothold in life... by support, training, empowerment, inclusion and housing
  •  Horizon Project – providing supported vocational training at our friendly workshops - training centres - across West Kent for young people aged 14 to 25, with some training also available for adults with learning disabilities or those looking for work or needing support to build confidence, life skills and independence
  •  Vehicle for Change V4C – a Big Lottery Funded project working across West Kent connecting with hard to reach and isolated young people through its specially adapted Mobile Resource Unit; providing an exciting mobile venue - to engage, equip and empower young people in West Kent
  •  U TURN – working with our network of local partners to support disadvantaged or vulnerable adults [with no or low educational qualifications] to build new skills and confidence, to help them progress into work, better work, further training or volunteering. This FREE outreach support, training and learning for people age 19 and over in our community is delivered by a wide variety of partner organisations - at your pace, near your place.  One element of this outreach / community learning has been support for members of District Partnership Groups for people with learning disabilities ~ such as SDPG and TWDPG. U TURN is funded by the Skills Funding Agency and we are partners of the London Learning Consortium..
  •  Furniture Stores – our social enterprise recycles over 300 tonnes a year of furniture & electrical items; helping the whole community; life-changing work experience, jobs, volunteering, training; reducing landfill, incineration and fly-tipping; and sustaining our vital work.  Members of FRN - furniture re-use network
  •  NEW START - only Job Centre Plus can refer clients onto NEW START - for unemployed people to gain work and retail skills in our warehouses [awaiting further funding from JCP]
  •  Juice Bar Youth Clubs ---- local youth work by young people for young people

  •  SMARTMOVE WEST KENT offers a PRIVATE LETTINGS SERVICE - to develop improved access to the private rented sector [PRS] by helping LANDLORDS and potential tenants - with the aim of supporting sustainable tenancies across all of SDC, TMBC and TWBC areas..     CLOSED - SERVICE NOW PROVIDED BY TWCAB
