Image Description

You can support YMCA England & Wales and your local YMCA by getting involved in sponsored events or running your own event in your community.

If you decide to organise your own fundraising or sponsored event at your home, school, church, YMCA or place of work, please contact us for posters, leaflets, branded materials and collection tins. We’ll be more than happy to help and could even support you to promote the event!

We would love to hear from you, so please drop us a line at events@ymca.org.uk

A bit of inspiration…

Donate while you shop at no extra cost!

When shopping online, make your purchases via www.easyfundraising.org.uk and chose YMCA West Kent as your charity of choice. That way, the companies you buy products from will make a donation to us at the checkout, without you paying anything extra.

Give a gift card

If you have any unwanted or unused gift cards, visit www.giftagifthq.com to donate a portion of the amount to YMCA, and transfer the rest to a new gift card of your choice. It’s win win!

Put on an event

Put on an event such as a quiz or a fashion show and sell tickets. Not only is it a great way to raise money, it’s also good fun.

Afternoon teas/coffee mornings

Why not get baking and have people round for a coffee morning or afternoon tea? You can ask people for a small donation or hold a raffle and sell tickets.

Car boot sales

Set up a table for YMCA at a car boot sale and sell your unwanted bric-a-brac. Or donate unwanted items to our shops - furniture, bikes and small electrical items.

Auctions

You could hold an auction dinner. Ask individuals & local businesses for items that money can’t usually buy. Individuals could offer an hour’s gardening, an evening’s babysitting, a lift to/from an airport, or a week in their holiday home. Local businesses could offer items like a studio portrait, a hamper or a haircut.

Sponsored events

The possibilities are endless. Choose an event and collect sponsorship. You could run, swim, dance, sleep, sing, eat, play squash, cycle, tell jokes or be silent; or arrange a Sleep Easy - a night on the streets or in a car park or village hall to raise awareness of homelessness.  We can help with info, flyers, a draft risk assessment and even come and give a presentation to those taking part and parents / supporters.

If you have planned a great event, don’t forget to contact your local press. The more people who know about your efforts, the more money and awareness you’re likely to raise.
