A gift in your Will

Consider leaving a gift in your Will to YMCA West Kent.

Image Description

Writing and updating your Will can be a reflective time.  After you’ve taken care of your loved ones, we would be honoured if you would consider leaving a lasting gift to YMCA West Kent.

No matter how large or small, a gift in a Will can help transform lives - even a small percentage of what’s left after your loved ones are provided for can make a huge difference to our work.  Your generosity could help us:

  • provide accommodation for young people with nowhere else to go.
  • Provide vocational training & education to young people, allowing a chance to build their future.
  • Build more youth clubs for young people in their local communities

How do I leave a gift in my Will?

There are three main ways to leave a gift in your Will and we recommend that you consult with a solicitor, who will be able to help guide you on the most suitable way for you to give. The three main ways to leave a gift in your will are:

  • A Residuary Gift - is the gift of either all, or a share of, what is left in your estate after all other gifts to family and friends (plus any taxes and expenses) have been paid.
  • A Pecuniary Gift - is a gift of a stated amount of money which is left to a named person, charity or other organisation.
  • A Specific Gift - is a gift of a specific item. The item must be described precisely and the name and address of the person or organisation to whom the gift has been left must be provided.

If you would be interested in leaving a gift in your Will to us, we recommend speaking to a solicitor, who will help you draft your Will (or update an existing one).
